Dr Mendoza is originally from Barranquilla, Colombia. At 16, he immigrated to the United States where his dream was to become a doctor given that both his parents were health professionals. He completed his studies in pre-medicine at Georgia State University with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. Given his academic performance in high school, he was awarded a Hope Scholarship. Upon completion, he entered and completed a master’s degree in molecular biology at the same university where he maintained a 3.98 grade point average.

After his master’s degree, he was accepted to Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. There he completed his medical studies with Cum Laude distinction. He realized his passion for surgery and completed his residency in general surgery at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center, a level I community trauma center. There he learned to treat and help patients in extremis and how to be a safe and efficient surgeon.

Dr Mendoza is certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery. He is a plastic and reconstructive surgery specialist from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is trained in all aspects of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery with state-of-the-art techniques that prioritize patient safety.
